Working with Teck Coal on construction of their expanded Fording River Truck Shop, we’ve overcome difficult conditions:

  • A remote mountain location, 1.5 hours from Fernie
  • Large pours with tight specifications and high strength concrete
  • Snow and temperatures well below freezing

The remote location of the job site necessitated precise coordination between our operation and multiple contractors, in order to meet tight timelines for delivery. Extreme weather added a challenge to the large pours required. To meet the project’s tight specifications, which included high strength concrete and a post-tensioned raft slab, we had testers and slump control both on site and at the plant.
